Our snowmobile ice fishing experience gives you the opportunity to venture far into the wilderness. Experience the mountains of the far north.
Upon arrival at the wilderness centre of Camp Tamok, we provide you with all the warm clothes and boots necessary. We begin the adventure with a thorough safety introduction and practical demonstration (click here for instructions). You don not need any previous skills to drive a snowmobile. All you need is normal physical condition.
You will be driving in pairs, one driver and one passenger on each snowmobile, with the opportunity to switch places during the trip. We will embark on a tour that will bring you past scenic mountains and through the dramatic snow-covered Finndalen valley, starting at 250 m above sea level and climbing up to 900 m. The distance of the trail is 15 km each way, 30 km in total. You will be on the snowmobile for approx. 2-2.5 hours.
Due to the dramatic topography, a reduced speed is maintained during parts of the trip. The top point of the trail is the ice-covered Finnvatnet lake, where you can relax and admire the scenery of Finndalen. If time and weather permit, you can try out ice fishing on this lake. At the end of the trip, you will be served a hot meal and coffee by the open fire in a cosy dining lavvu (Sami tent).
Hard to choose between the daytime and evening trip? Daytime trips give you an amazing view of the untamed mountains of the Tamokdalen valley, while the evening trips give you a good opportunity to experience the Northern Lights.
