Along with rissoles and reindeer stew, this is one of our bestsellers. Salted mutton stew cooked with carrots, turnips, leeks, onions and potatoes. Served with flatbread.
Our popular best seller through the years. A recipe which is almost unchanged since it came on the menu in 1952. Produced and prepared by loving hands. Served in a brown sauce with carrots, stewed peas, potatoes and home-made lingonberry jam.

We will therefore have some dishes that is not on our webpage. And also some days some of this dishes can be off menu.
There is little that is as nice as a good dinner. That is why our chefs are particularly concerned with making traditional dishes from scratch and based on local ingredients.
It should be pleasant to eat together. At Vollan Gjestestue, we provide home-baked cakes as the perfect end to the get-together.
It's always easy to stop at Vollan when you're on the go in Troms. We have a variety of dishes that are suitable either on the go or for a short stop on the road.
Our chefs are always looking for new ways to serve classic home cooking.
For example, have you tried our fantastic soft ice cream with freshly stirred cranberry jam? We make the vast majority of our food ourselves and source as much of our raw materials as possible from local suppliers in the region. Among other things, we get lamb meat from Hamnvåg Lam in Malangen, feta cheese from Bomstad Gård in Nordkjosbotn, and almond potatoes and dried cod from Kåre Frydenlund in Storfjord.
The cafe opened its doors for the first time on 4 July 1948, after Gudrun “Guri” Lydersen had taken over the property. Today, Vollan Gjestestue is run by the 3rd generation Lydersen in the same cozy style and in the spirit of “Guri”.
Since we deliver “homemade” home cooking, we adapt the menu according to the season. You will therefore be able to find something new and exciting on our menu at regular intervals. Visit our cafe for real “home-made” food the next time you want something extra good.
