Wednesday 24.January 2024

We were a group of 7 employees from Vollan Gjestestue who took the trip to Camp Tamok and Ice Domes.

Directions:
The trip from the hotel to Ice Domes took approx 20-25 minutes.
The direction to Camp Tamok was well marked on both sides of the road.
First a road sign on the right side of the road, pointing towards the left direction.
On the way up to Camp Tamok there was also a large sign.

ICE DOMES

We met up in Gappa, as they call the wooden house next to the ice domes.
Inside it was cozy and warm.
There is also a smal reception area where you can buy tickets.

It is the same place where the ice hotel guests eat three course meal and breakfast in the morning.

(The house also has good bathroom facilities for those who wonder about that.)

The arrival hall in the Ice domes was grand and beautiful, with decorative details. Chairs, table and bar counter made of ice.

In the arrival hall, we also saw a presentation film, as we got to see how they make the ice dome.

Picture of the group in front of the viking ship.

We got served a tasteful shot in a glas made of ice.

Here is a slideshow with some of the pictures we took.

The ice hotel is built up every year with somewhat different designs. It was beautiful ice art with a lot of details.

CAMP TAMOK

After ending our lovely visit in Tromsoe Ice domes. We also got to visit Camp Tamok.
From the Camp most of the activities starts.

A lovely afternoon in beautiful moonlight.

In several places on the camp you will find gamme (small wooden houses) or cabins, where you can keep warm and sit inside if you are waiting for the next activity.

They also have several types of accommodation options. Camping and glamping.

They offer activities such as northern light tours, snowshoeing, dog sledding, reindeer sledding, snowmobile tours. They offer activities both during day and in the evening.

Decorative bonfire inside the camp.

Thanks for the tour, we really recommend this experience.
